Madge and I had the pleasure yesterday of meeting with the Book Belles at the Woodland Park Library to discuss "Paying the Price." A group of seventeen, which is an offshoot of the Ute Social Club, treated us to some wonderful homemade goodies including strawberries dipped in chocolate - one of my favorites. Several members of the group were familiar with Hawaii's social class strife so there was much discussion about the prejudice that Annie experienced at school. We talked some about the publishing process too. Madge explained her writing process and talked a little about the next book in the series. Yes, she's about half way through the first draft. In the new one Laura will have to contend with a client who has Alzheimer's and this time she may even find some male company! Madge has been on the road already this summer. She visited Pagosa Springs, Durango, Grand Junction, and Glenwood Springs in May.
