Discussion Questions
- The book examines two sets of mother – daughter relationships. Does Laura’s relationship with her mother impact the relationship she has with Annie? Discuss the similarities and differences between the two sets of women.
- Why did Annie run away? What compels her to return to Maui? The book hints that Annie is slightly autistic. Does this impact her actions?
- Part of Paying the Price deals with Laura’s need to get answers from her ex-husband Frank about why their marriage failed. If this is her way of coping and letting go why does she climb back in bed with him?
