I finished Paying the Price last night. Should have gone to sleep but was so hooked I stayed up until 1 a.m. to finish it. Loved your descriptions of local places. Great word choices and images. What an imagination! I couldn't predict any of the twists and turns. I remembered your tale of sitting in the waiting area at Maui Memorial and saying that you had to incorporate that in a book… and there it was. Fun!

The real estate issues were so true to life, and the characters, particularly the interaction between mother and troubled teen show tremendous sensitivity and insight. Paying the Price is a real page-turner! I like the writing style, and I enjoyed reading the book tremendously. Having been a realtor in Hawaii brought back vivid memories, including one particular "transaction from hell." My husband just finished reading it. He was totally captivated and is very impressed.

I have finished Paying the Price and can't wait for the next book in the Laura series! The story/plot captured me. I didn't know what was coming. The descriptive writing gave me the experience of BEING on Maui again! And I can see how if I were an aspiring Realtor, this book would be full of excellent teachings for me.
